A CAN supported community is a self-identifying geographic part of a city, region, state or nation. Residents log into a CAN network with a smart phone or browser. Neighborhood CAN affiliates may provide cost-free smartphones or tablets.

PEOPLE WEIGH IN

A community's CAN network exists as encrypted data in redundant servers, with strong privacy protection of personal information, voting data and outcome of polls, using security procedures equal to financial institutions.

We use AI and NLP to parse poll questions and apply semantic similarity to find similar issues being polled in other communities to derive broader consensus on import issues. We use AI on chat posts and comments to detect offensive or vulgar language, and attributes such as tension, anger, ad hominem speech, as well as non-factual assertions.

Decentralized Architecture

Each community runs on its own server node or “instance” with inter-regional data redundancy. This allows our platform to redeploy the instance quickly and automatically in another data center, if the original node goes down due to network latency, regional downtime, data corruption or a network attack.
